Animal Health Certificates

When you plan to travel to the EU with your dog, cat or ferret you will need an Animal Health Certificate (AHC). An AHC can certify a up to 5 pets travelling with you as the owner. It is a legal requirement for travel and it exists to keep the UK free from rabies and to ensure pets are compliant with tapeworm treatment upon return to the UK.

Getting you your AHC

Step by step to your AHC

1

Preparation

Check your pet is microchipped and has a valid rabies vaccination. Your pet had to be at least 12 weeks old at the time of vaccination and there must be at least 21 days between the vaccination and signing your AHC (the day of vaccination is counted as day 0).
2

Choose Time & Date

In the Booking form below you can choose a date and time that suits you best to collect your AHC in person along with your pet(s). The appointment must be at least 21 days from the latest rabies vaccination and at most 10 days before your travel date.
3

Ask your Vet

Ask your vets to email the rabies vaccination history to us, which must include owner's details, microchip number and evidence the chip was scanned prior to rabies vaccination, date of vaccination, manufacturer and batch number of the vaccination used.
4

Complete online form

After booking your date and time we we will send you an online form to collect the necessary information for your AHC. Please complete this form at least five days before your appointment to qualify for a regular AHC.
5

Collect your AHC

We will use your information provided -as is- to prepare your AHC. Once completed we will confirm the chosen date and time and provide you with our invoice (payable before the appointment). We will meet you (or the named person on the AHC) and the pet(s) to scan the pet’s microchip, check their fitness to travel and sign the AHC to get you on your way.
